CFI believes that while its accredited coaches can discover and evolve their unique and individual styles, this style needs to be governed by a disciplined approach backed by scientific rigour. Towards this end,CFI has evolved its proprietary coaching engagement model which is comprehensive,eclectic and holistic.

This holistic coaching model is coachee centric by approach, humanistic by orientation, empowering by style and eclectic by design. It prepares coaches to be highly skilful in their coaching conversations and deeply mindful about the psychological dimensions of coaching. The CFI coaching model focuses on managing problems and developing unused opportunities.

CFI recognises that coaching effectiveness depends upon a combination of three critical factors- a systematic process, appropriate skills and use of relevant tools.

The CFI Engagement Model provides its professional members with a standardised framework within which to undertake coaching engagements, even while it allows flexibility in its application.
