CFI is committed to ensuring that its accredited coaches uphold the highest ethical standards in their coaching practice. To this effect , CFI has adopted a comprehensive ethical framework.
In becoming accredited to CFI. its members commit that they will

Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on coaching as a profession and will refrain from doing anything that harms the public's understanding or acceptance of coaching as a profession.

Accurately identify their level of coaching competence and will not overstate their qualifications, expertise or experience as a coach.

Ensure that their client understands the nature of coaching and the terms of the coaching agreement between them. Not intentionally mislead or make false claims about what their clients will receive from the coaching process or from them as their coach.

Respect the confidentiality of their client's information, except as otherwise authorized by their client.

Be quick in noticing when their client is no longer benefiting from the coaching relationship and would be better served by another coach or by another resource and, at that time, encourage their client to make that change.

Openly disclose and fully discuss any conflict of interest or potential conflict of interest, focusing on finding ways to deal with it in a way that best serves the client.

Construct clear agreements that may include confidentiality, progress reports and so on and honour the same.

Not give their clients or any prospective clients information or advice they know to be misleading or beyond their competence decline engagements that are beyond the limits of their competence and refer such clients to other professionals when they are likely to be best served by them.

Respect and honor the efforts and contributions of others.
