At heart of the CFI way is our philosophy of being holistic in our approach to development, our belief that leaders must not only work well but also live well. (potential and well-being). We have been deeply humanistic in our orientation – in understanding, respecting and celebrating the human spirit. In our work we have been coachee centric, non-directive and empowering. In the way we approach our practice, there are some things we have been very particular about but in many other things, we have been eclectic. Of course, we have always lived by our ethical framework and standards of professional excellence.

We approach our client work with a strong consulting orientation so that we are able to understand their real needs and through that help them get best value from their investments and do what matters most to the business and the people. We believe that consulting conversations must precede coaching conversations.

CFI has clearly articulated standards of professional excellence. This outlines the ethical standards that we commit to live by to protect the interests of our clients and demonstrate excellence in our work. This is explained separately (CFI’s Ethical Promise).

CFI has a very elaborate program to promote the continuing professional development among its coaches. This program called Utsav, the Coaching and Leadership festival promotes Professional development to deepen practice competence, familiarity with cutting-edge tools and methods to deliver excellence in their work and client connect initiatives to help CFI and its coaches stay tuned to their needs and challenges.

At the heart of all this is the CFI coach community. CFI is what it is because of its community of coaches and their ability to deliver outstanding value to our clients. Of course, our coaches believe that CFI played an important role in initiating them in their career as coaches and contributing to their continuing professional development. Our interdependent relationship grows and becomes stronger over the years. Given the strength of this relationship, CFI never goes outside this community to fulfil its client executive coaching needs.
Humane, trustworthy, empathetic, passionate, genuine and open
Reliable, making a difference and going the extra mile
Ethical, committed to doing the right thing by the coachee
Promoting self-responsibility
Generous and with a strong learning orientation
CFI defines Coaching as a very personal, humanistic, result-oriented, potential enhancing developmental relationship, structured between an executive seeking to further their growth and a formally trained, skilled and empathetic coach.
Coaching aids leader development but is not therapy and is not intended to treat any form of mental illness.
